Cubital Tunnel EMG Testing in Winchester, VA

Cubital Tunnel EMG Testing in Winchester, VA

Waystone Health provides EMG/NCS testing, nerve conduction studies, and neuromuscular ultrasound to help evaluate suspected cubital tunnel syndrome and ulnar neuropathy at the elbow.

Cubital tunnel syndrome occurs when the ulnar nerve is irritated or compressed around the elbow. Symptoms may include numbness, tingling, pain, or weakness affecting the ring and small fingers, hand grip, or coordination.

How EMG/NCS Helps Evaluate Ulnar Neuropathy

Nerve conduction studies can help identify slowing or conduction block of the ulnar nerve across the elbow. Needle EMG may also be used to evaluate muscles supplied by the ulnar nerve and determine whether there is evidence of nerve injury or axon loss.

When clinically appropriate, neuromuscular ultrasound may also be used to assess the ulnar nerve at the elbow, including nerve enlargement, irritation, subluxation, or anatomic changes.
